2017 Bead-A-Thon Gets Rolling
The 2017 Penguins playoff run starts on 4/12/17. We have a guarded optimism going into this year's playoff run. That's what we had last year. And, look what happened! Again this year, we are participating in the Penguins Beard A Thon to raise money for the Mario L emieux Foundation . This charity supports many great causes including The Children's Home of Pittsburgh . The Children’s Home is one of our favorite charities because I was adopted from there (as was my brother and sister). If it weren’t for the Children’s Home, I simply wouldn’t have my family and my wonderful parents. And, the Children’s Home continues to do great work today-decades after I left there as a baby. Anyway , growing my beard until the Penguins win the Stanley Cup (or are knocked out of the playoffs) is the continuation of a long hockey tradition. So, this a true Win-Win.
